Frequently asked
questions

My electricity bill is so low. Why do I need a solar system on my roof?

That’s great that your current electricity bill is low. However, what if your conditions change. Adding family members, adding an electric vehicle, adding an electricity heated hot tub and rising electricity rates are examples of what will increase your electricity bill. You have control of most of these however even if you keep using the same amount of electricity your cost of electricity will increase in the near term. Rates historically rise every year. In 2022, NV Energy rates and already increased 7% this year. Forecasts call for at least another 5% to 7% by the end of 2022. Let’s assume that the rates only increase by another 1% for the remainder of the year to a total of 8%. If that increase continues at that rate and your usage remains constant, your $100 electricity bill in 2022 will be $108 in 2023. That’s still manageable. However, working with the same assumptions your bill in 2032 will be $216. So, ask yourself, when will i NOT need electricity? What will be the cost up to that point in time? Can you afford that future cost?

Solar costs a lot of money. How will I pay for it and especially how will I pay for it during this time of increased inflation?

Awesome question because right now times are hard and money it tight for a lot of Americans. We at FalconSol have two firm criteria before we will install a solar system on a residential property. We refer to ensuring the home qualifies for solar. Don’t misunderstand this with your personal credit score/rating. Criteria #1: Can we get a solar system installed on this home without a down payment? Criteria #2: Can we save our client money in a short period of time (within a year)? If we cannot show you that we can meet both Criteria #1 and #2, then we will not advocate for a solar installation on your home and we will part friends. Currently, the U.S. Federal Government is providing a 30% federal tax credit to support the reduction of your new solar system. The time is ripe to take advantage of this tax credit and Go Solar!.

Solar panels are ugly. Why do I want them on my roof destroying the curb appeal of my home?

I agree, some solar panels are ugly. You are most likely thinking of the older panels with lines and grids all over them. The solar panels ARC Energy uses are designed in Austria and built in Georgia, U.S.A. Take a look at the photos on the pages of this website. These are recent photos of actual installs ARC Energy has recently accomplished.

What is the process of getting a solar system operating for me? Here is a quick outline of the steps:

  1. You to decide to move ahead with a solar installation.
  2. You will sign a small amount of paperwork to begin the process.’
  3. Our installer, Titan Solar, will perform a site inspection on your house to include the power panel, roof and attic space.
  4. Our Permit Team will begin to work all the required permits while the Engineers design your system.
  5. Installation occurs normally 6 to 8 weeks after you sign the paperwork to begin the process.
  6. Inspections are accomplished by the local building and electrical inspectors as well as your power company.
  7. Your power company will remove your current electricity meter and replace it with a two-way meter.
  8. You are cleared to operate your new solar system.

We are here to aid you through the whole process. Let us know when you need help!

Why do I need a two-way meter installed on my home?

You require a two-way meter to participate in net-metering. There is no additional cost for a two-way meter. Please watch the video below which provides an excellent explanation of net-metering.

Is the solar system under warranty?

Yes, all of the hardware (solar panels, wiring, conduit, inverter and battery [if installed]), the roof area around the solar panels and the electricity production are all under a 25-year warranty.

If you have any problem with your solar system call Titan Solar right away. They will respond to fix the system asap. You can also call me and I will monitor the repair and make sure it is accomplished to your satisfaction.
